STUDENTS HOST RACE TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD OBESITY

The Skyline health and medicine magnet is a class taught at Ann Arbor Skyline High School by Mr. Jeffery Bradley that is centered around the study of the health field. These 56 students, some first years and some with two years of experience, will participate in the class until they graduate. In this class, students are taught how to apply what they have learned into real life situations. The magnet teamed up with Champions for Charity to benefit Project Healthy Schools.

Project Healthy Schools was originally established to help combat child obesity in middle and elementary schools by promoting healthy food choices and exercising. By reaching out to these kids while they are still young, it helps pave the way for a healthy future. The Skyline magnet students felt like they should give back to this wonderful organization by hosting  this race. With the leadership of student Andy Irwin and the 11th graders that head the committees of the race, the teachings of Mr. Jeffery Bradley and the support of Andrea Highfield and Champions for Charity, this should be a race to remember! - Varun Chethan and Andy Irwin
